Let us do our fourth attempt.
From Friday, Oct 7th till Saturday, Oct 8th, 2011 we will materialize our offer of vocal experience again. This year, however, we decided to show somewhat ´harder´, so we have invited an ensemble presenting an electronic a cappella performance (a laptop is announced as a member of the group, as well as an old sofa, which makes us extremely curious). This is a good reason to avoid missing the Friday´s concert! Together with ´Postyr´ (Denmark) you will have a great chance to see a German jazz vocal ensemble called ´Stouxingers´, representing a delicacy for all lovers of voice experiments. During their performance you might feel as if you were in a jungle, later perhaps in the streets of New Orleans or... just at a perfect concert!
The opening and closing concerts will be mastered by male voices. We offer two marvelous a cappella dishes for both gentlemen and ladies. Dear gentlemen, please, take your female partners out to a concert – and they will be certainly grateful so much! You will have an opportunity to enjoy the perfect music and the ladies will appreciate an extra breathtaking visual piece of experience. Dear ladies, make sure that you won´t miss these two days with 6 and 5 EXTRAORDINARILY GOOD male singers.
The Zoom+ Festival will be initiated by a Spanish vocal group called ´b vocal´. Their Broadway success ´encouraged´ them to join our Trnava event. These impassioned Spaniards have a traditional Spanish music with nontraditional arrangements in store for us.
The final concert is dedicated to elegant Swedes of ´Vocal Six´. One of the most noteworthy European a cappella ensembles... there is nothing more to say. You MUST come and hear them!
We hope that you will find some time in the beginning of October, 2011 and visit the city of Trnava.
We intend to open the gates of the world of a cappella singing, the world
of crazy people trying to imitate musical instruments with only their voices,
people who are able to create harmonies and music with the most
natural human musical instrument. Perhaps there are not millions of a cappella fans in Slovakia, but those who enjoy this style of music are absolutely keen on a cappella performing. It would be a
great pleasure and inspiring success for us to attract both the loyal a cappella fans and the other
people that might have a chance to see that there is something like a cappella singing in this world. There are lots of pop songs that have been rearranged in a cappella style!
All fans of the Beatles, Queen, Sting, music of the 1930´s, rock,
metal music, musicals...!!! It will be really worth coming! You should come and hear it... The music that you love will certainly resonate here. We will make you sure that it is possible to do without instruments, too, and that the human voice can imitate them perfectly.
The vocal groups we are hosting at our Festival do either acoustic
performances or concerts with support of electric sound equipment.
By the way, one should explain what a vocal group is. Many people are
confused and believe that it is a sort of choir singing. What a mistake! A vocal group is a specific ensemble including usually not more than 12 singers, with everyone representing more or less a soloist singing their own part. So in case one of the singers gets lost in a song, he or she must find their line again, as no one else in the group is singing their part.
